Lindsey Mussleman Davis is a Florence native and is the senior partner in the firm of Holt, Mussleman, Morgan and Alvis, the firm which she joined when she began practicing in 1983.

 

She earned her B.A. at Auburn University and her J.D. at Samford University Cumberland School of Law. While a student at Auburn, she served as President of the Auburn University Young Democrats and was selected as an LBJ Intern for then Rep. Ronnie Flippo. At Cumberland, she was a member of the Henry Upson Sims Moot Court Board and various student organizations.

 

Lindsey practices in a firm devoted to the general practice of law in which she focuses a majority of her practice on family law, litigation, probate, and appeals.

 

She has been active in the community with organizations such as AAUW, Women in Lifetime Leadership (charter member), the American Heart Association and the Music Preservation Society, Inc., (past president), Committee for Greater Shoals, Lauderdale County Democratic Executive Committee, Shoals Area Auburn Club (Executive Committee and Long Range Planning Committee), Save Cypress.

 

In professional organizations, she has been active as well: Lauderdale Bar Association (past president), Northwest Alabama Trial Lawyers Association (past president), McKinley Young Lawyers (charter member), American Bar Association, the Alabama Bar Association, the Alabama Bar Family Law Section, the Small Firm & Solo Practice Section and the Alabama Bar Appellate Practice Section.

Lindsey is admitted to practice before the United States Supreme Court, United States Courts of Appeal for the 6th and 11th Circuits, United States District Courts for the Northern and Middle Districts of Alabama, and all Alabama state courts. She served on the Local Rules Committee for the Northern District of U.S. District Court and on various ad hoc committees regarding child visitation schedules and co-parenting for the 11th Alabama Judicial District.

Lindsey is active in First United Methodist Church of Florence having served as Chair of the Board of Stewards, Chair of the Staff - Parish Relations Committee, Chair of the Stewardship Committee, Chair of the Dayschool Committee, the Executive Leadership Committee and Missions Committee. In 2011, Lindsey was appointed to the City of Florence Civil Service Board, where she continues to serve.

Lindsey and her husband, Butch, have 2 children, Rebecca and Forrest.
